The Plant Manager SQF Practitioner is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF system within the company. This role includes ensuring that all processes and procedures comply with the SQF certification program's requirements. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading Food Safety and Quality Activities to ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Managing the Quality Assurance/Quality Control function.
• Leading compliance with the Company’s Food Safety and Quality Programs.
• Conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing control measures, and monitoring compliance with standards.
• Conducting internal audits and preparing for certification audits.
• Developing and conducting employee training programs for key elements of manufacturing.
• Performing documentation and process audits to ensure compliance with stated procedures.
• Conducting regular audits of the food security plan and monthly food safety audits with cross-functional team.
• Seeking ways to continuously improve the Food Safety and Quality Programs.
• Performing mock recalls and reviewing incoming materials for acceptance against standards.
• Conducting daily GMP audits and product sampling, and monitoring plant sanitation.
• Reviewing process control data, HOLDS, and disposition of product.
• Reviewing labels for accuracy and compliance with labeling laws.
• The SQF Practitioner must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Food Science, Physical Sciences, or a related field. Successful completion of formal training in preventive controls such as HACCP and PCQI is also required. The role requires a self-starter with a desire to broaden knowledge of the company beyond QA/QC by working on projects and learning other areas of the business.
