Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a key role in managing billing operations, ensuring accuracy in claims processing, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities: - Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines. - Verify patient information and eligibility prior to claim submission. - Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or denied claims. - Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper coding. - Utilize systems such as MEDENT and Epic EMR to manage billing operations efficiently. - Conduct audits to ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations. - Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing policies and insurance requirements. - Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing and collections. - Provide support during system updates or transitions to ensure continuity in billing processes. Requirements - Proven experience in medical billing, coding, and collections. - Proficiency with MEDENT and Epic EMR systems. - Strong understanding of medical claims processes and insurance guidelines. - Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards. - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. - Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers. - Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently. - Familiarity with financial reporting related to medical billing operations.
