Job Description

Franchise Business Consultant Summary The Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to franchise owners and their operators to achieve company and operational goals. The FBC supports Jeremiah’s Italian franchise-owned locations, driving positive impact in sales, profits, operating systems, and company culture. The position oversaw multiple locations across territories, ensuring brand consistency, policy compliance, and successful store operations. This role is the primary liaison to our Jeremiah’s Italian Ice Support Center. The position requires flexibility in hours—including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays—and includes frequent travel, approximately 85% of the time, which may include overnight trips. Build relationships with all franchise owners, area representatives, and operations teams. Maintain Jeremiah’s culture of respect, caring, fairness, and teamwork at all franchise locations. Respond promptly to franchisee needs, offering solutions and addressing guest services questions and complaints. Partner with the Jeremiah’s Italian Ice Management Team to execute strategies that enhance company performance, integrating marketing, operations, training, R&D, and supply chain. Collect field feedback to improve training materials, policies, and franchising documentation. Regular site visits to ensure business meets performance and profitability goals. Complete and review store assessment reports. Ensure product quality, store facilities, and five-star service standards are met. Develop and implement reporting tools to measure and counsel on operational performance. Guarantee franchisees use only JIIFG approved products. Maintain quality assurance metrics through inspection and shop reports. Ensure franchisees utilize LSM marketing plans to build community partnerships. Manage business in line with Jeremiah’s culture while optimizing sales, guest counts, market share, and profits. Collaborate with training and development teams to support new store openings. Position franchisees for success in shift management, food safety, service, cleanliness, and maintenance. Track and review data and analytics to guide franchisee action plans, interpret data, provide recommendations, and follow up on progress. Coordinate with the development team to facilitate successful franchise transfers. Establish and implement business plans with franchise owners. Provide impactful advice to guide franchisees toward financial success. Review store-level financials, offering insights and strategies for sales and culture building. Maintain updates for distribution, procurement, and supply chain management within managed territories. Oversee pre-opening operations to meet established standards and budgets, ensuring the team is trained and ready for opening day. Qualifications Education & Experience 10+ years of progressive experience leading and managing multiple units. 10+ years of progressive experience leading full-service or quick-service pre-opening operations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or a suitable combination of education and experience on multi-unit operations. Brand development experience in new markets highly desired. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and presentation abilities. Deep understanding of multi-unit operations. Financial acumen: budgeting, P&L analysis, cost management, and data-driven decision making. Operational expertise in food service standards, quality assurance, health and safety compliance, and performance metrics. Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans, improving performance and driving sales. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, POS systems, and franchise management software (e.g., Franconnect, LEAP). Strong relationship-building skills with franchisees, internal teams, and external partners. Excellent organizational, time management, and project management abilities. Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Knowledge of marketing, community engagement, and local store marketing strategies. Ability to travel extensively and adapt to changing schedules. Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and move throughout office and store locations for extended periods. Ability to sit or stand for long periods while performing duties. Perform repetitive arm, hand, and wrist movements. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; work with hands above shoulder level. Add occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, balancing, or carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to twist body parts in circular motions as needed. Tolerate varying temperatures, chemicals, and noise. Verbal communication and perception of sound for effective interaction. Capacity to travel extensively by car, plane, or other transportation, including overnight trips.
