Position: Food Safety Supervisor
Pay Rate: $30/hr-$32/hr
Location: San Marcos, CA

Food Safety Supervisor Essential Functions:

• Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programs tailored to greenhouse production, including GAP and GMP

• Develop & maintain SOPs: Write, implement, and regularly review Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) for all areas of food safety, including growing, harvesting, handling, packaging, and storage of all products. Ensure all SOPs align with regulatory standards (e.g., GAP, FDA, LGMA, Primus
GFS v3.2) and industry’s best practices.
• Assist Food Safety Manager with customer complaint communication and CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventative Action with Root Cause Determination)
• Provide ongoing training for employees regarding food safety, hygiene practices, and handling procedures. Update training materials as necessary to keep up with changes in regulations and practices.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of cooler facilities to identify and address potential food safety hazards. Document findings and issue work orders accordingly.

Food Safety Supervisor Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:
• High School Education, an education in the sciences and/ or experience a plus.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety, greenhouse operations, or controlled-environment agriculture.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, (word, excel, outlook, and power point) required.
• Certification in HACCP, GAP, ALGA, Primus GFS 3.2, or Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) training (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards for fresh produce.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
