Marron Lawyers, a Long Beach based business litigation firm seeks an Executive/Administrative Assistant to the Principal Attorney. The candidate would be working in a demanding, but rewarding environment, with a strong group of collegial co-workers. The position is full time, in office.
Requirements: Must have 2-3 years of experience in executive assistance and/or administration with strong skills with Microsoft Office including Outlook calendaring, Excel, basic bookkeeping and payables experience using Quickbooks desktop, travel management and preparing personal correspondence. May include front office experience including incoming phone calls, mail distribution and facilities oversight. Also, assist Principal Attorney and other Senior Attorneys in implementing office practices and policies. Discretion and good judgement are necessary. Excellent position with opportunity to grow.
About the Firm: The Firm was established as a solo practice in 1995 and has grown to 13 attorneys. The Firm is focused on business/commercial litigation and labor/employment defense and acts as general and litigation counsel to a number of medium to large sized companies in the transportation industry. We also represent one of the major shipping ports in Southern California. The practice is statewide and national with an equal mix between state and federal court.
Job Description: The Assistant to the Managing Partner manages his personal calendar and payables; handles daily mail distribution for the Firm including scanning incoming mail; assistance with remote bank deposits or bank visits when needed; answering and routing incoming telephone calls; is the first point of contact with building management and vendors as issues arise. Other administrative duties will be assigned as needed and may include assisting Principal Attorney and Senior Counsel with implementing office policies. Interest in learning legal aspects of the job such as basic paralegal tasks a plus.
